What Are The Characteristics Of CNC Cutting Machine Plasma

Plasma cutting is a melting process in which a jet of ionized gas at temperatures above 20,000°C is used to melt and expel material from the cut. This heat melts the metal and the gas flow ejects it from the cut. Plasma gases are usually argon, argon/hydrogen, or nitrogen.

Plasma cutting is the process of cutting material by pushing melted down, ionized gas set at twenty-thousand degrees or more through the opening of a plasma cutting machine. During this process, an electrical current travels through this gas, creating an arc between the workplace and an electrode. cnc cutting machine plasma are perfect for manufacturing projects because of their versatility in welding and similar projects. Here’s how plasma cutting machines work.

CNC Cutting Machine Plasma Features:

CNC cutting machine plasma with different working gases can cut all kinds of oxygen cutting hard to cut metals, especially for non-ferrous metals (stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, copper, titanium, nickel) cutting effect is better; Its main advantage is that when cutting metal thickness is not big, plasma cutting speed is fast, especially when cutting ordinary carbon steel sheet, the speed can reach 5~6 times of oxygen cutting method, cutting surface smooth, small thermal deformation, almost no heat affected zone.

Plasma cutting machine development up to now, can be used to work gas (working gas is plasma conductive medium, but also carry heat body, but also exclude the molten metal in the incision) on the plasma cutting characteristics and cutting quality, speed have obvious influence. The commonly used plasma arc gas includes argon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, air, water vapor and some mixed gases.

Plasma cutting machine is widely used in automobiles, locomotives, pressure vessels, chemical machinery, nuclear industry, general machinery, construction machinery, steel structure and other industries!

Plasma from water vapor is a safe, simple, effective, versatile and environmentally friendly way to heat work (cutting, fusion welding, brazing, quenching, spraying, etc.) metals larger than 0.3mm in thickness, a first in the history of the metalworking industry.

How Does A CNC Cutting Machine Plasma Work?
Also called a thermal cutting method, Plasma Cutting Machine can cut metals which are good conductors of electricity. This is done through an accelerated jet of hot plasma instead of mechanically cutting it. This is achieved by compressed air or other gases, depending on the material to be cut. Basically, the compressed gases create a pressure build-up, across the electrode, and the plasma steam is pushed towards the cutting head. Plasma cutting torches use a copper nozzle to constrict the steam of plasma, which is then subjected to the workpiece. As the current from the cutting torch passes through the plasma, sufficient heat is produced to melt through the workpiece. At the same time, compressed gases blow away the molten metal.

Plasma cutting is one effective method to cut thin and thick materials. Owing to high speed and precision of cuts, this method is widely used in automotive repair and restoration, industrial construction, manufacturing, salvage and scrapping.
