Portable CNC Plasma Cutting Machine

Chinese Factory CNC Plasma Cutting Machine

A CNC plasma machine uses a plasma cutter to cut thin to thick metals along a multi-axis grid. The CNC method provides an advantage over handheld plasma cutting tools due to the cut being programmed and controlled by a computer instead of human motion. CNC plasma is where high speed and precision meet low cost – among a vast array of additional benefits.

Portable CNC Plasma Cutting MachineHow To Choose A Plasma Cutter

There are a number of factors to consider when purchasing a plasma cutting tool. They include cut capacity, cut quality, reliability, duty cycle, ease of use and operating cost. The first step is to figure out what type of plasma cutting you plan to do. Are you planning to cut by hand or on a table? Some plasma cutting tools are capable of doing both, going from handheld to mechanized cutting and back again. A few systems include a CNC interface and internal voltage divider, providing more options for mechanized applications.

Once you know what type of plasma cutting you are going to do, then you should consider the thickness of the material you plan to cut. The general rule is to choose a system with a recommended cut capacity that matches the material thickness you plan to cut 80 percent of the time. For example, if you mainly plan to cut ½-inch thick metal, and only occasionally cut metal that’s a little thicker (say 3/4 of an inch), then you can choose a ½-inch system.

Advantages of CNC plasma cutters :

Able to cut all conductive materials. Flame cutting, though also suitable for cutting thick metals, is limited to ferrous metals only.

Great quality for thickness up to 50 mm.

Maximum thickness up to 150 mm.

Comparatively cheap for medium thickness cuts.

Best way to cut medium thickness stainless steel and aluminium.

CNC machines are available to provide high precision and repeatability.

Can cut in water, resulting in smaller HAZ. Also reduces noise levels.

Smaller cutting kerf compared to flame cutting.

Quicker cutting speed than oxyfuel.

Disadvantages of sheet metal plasma cutter:

Larger HAZ compared to laser cutting.

Quality with thinner sheets and plates not as good as laser cutting.

Tolerances not as precise as laser cutting.

Does not reach thicknesses like flame or waterjet cutting.

Leaves a HAZ which waterjet does not.

Wider kerf than laser cutting.

CNC plasma cutters available in the SERON offer are characterized by a solid construction and easy-to-use control. The set also includes modern CAD / CAM software, fully compatible with the most popular graphic and engineering design programs, containing many advanced functions. Each offered plasma burner enables professional cutting and gouging of carbon and alloy steel, stainless steel, galvanized sheets, aluminum and its alloys and sheets: brass, bronze, copper, titanium, etc. The innovative CNC plasma is suitable for use in many sectors, including in the construction, electronics and decoration industries. Thanks to professional control, precise dynamic drives, and solid construction, the cutters guarantee precise, repeatable cutting and, as a result, elements suitable for further production without additional machining processes.
