Industrial Fabric Laser Cutting Machine
iGoldenlaser designs and builds a range of CO2 laser cutting machines for the cutting of polyester fabrics in various applications. Using a roller feed, rolls of fabric can be laser cut in a continuous manner. The nesting software calculates the layout in an optimal way to ensure wastage of your material is kept to a minimum. The state-of-the-art laser cutter with integrated camera system allows for the polyester fabric to be laser cut to the contours of the pre-printed design.
Laser Cutting Fabric
Normally a CO2 laser cutter is used to cut the fabric into the desired pattern shapes. A very fine laser beam is focused on to the fabric surface, which increases the temperature substantially and cutting takes place due to vaporization.
This series CO2 flatbed laser cutting machine is designed for wide textile rolls and soft materials automatically and continuously cutting. Driven by gear and rack with servo motor, the laser cutter offers the highest cutting speed and acceleration. The software package and extra options come with the laser cutting system is provided to achieve digital and intelligent processing.
Fabric Laser Cutting Machine Advantages:
Clean cuts, and sealed fabric edges with no fraying
Contact-less and tool-free technique
Very small kerf width and small heat affect zone
Extremely high precision and excellent consistency
Automated and computer-controlled processing ability
Quickly change designs, no tooling required Eliminates expensive and time-consuming die costs
No mechanical wear, hence good quality of finished parts
High Speed Industrial Textile Fabric Laser Cutting Machine
Textiles refer to materials that are made from fibers, thin threads or filaments which are natural or manufactured or a combination. Basically, textiles can be classified as natural textiles and synthetic textiles. Main natural textiles are cotton, silk, flannel, linen, leather, wool, velvet; Synthetic textiles mainly include polyester, nylon and spandex. Almost all textiles can be processed well by laser cutting. Some fabrics, such as felt and wool, can also be processed by laser engraving.
As a modern processing equipment, laser machines have grown in popularity in textile, leather and garment industries. Laser technique, is entirely different from traditional textile processes, as it is characterized by the accuracy, flexibility, efficiency, ease of operation and the scope of automation.
With the option of the auto-feeder, roll materials are fed to the cutting table directly and cut continuously. The machine is with vacuum suction underneath the conveyor working table, which ensures the materials to be flat on the table. Different vision systems can be equipped with this laser machine for diversified application such as dye sublimation printed textile cutting. And mark pen or ink-jet print head option is available to make marks for sewing or other purpose.
What is polyester fabric: Material properties and laser cutting technique
Polyester is a synthetic fibre, usually derived from petroleum. This fabric is one of the most popular textiles in the world and is used in thousands of different consumer and industrial applications. Polyester fabric has excellent characteristics such as low cost, durability, light weight, flexibility, and easy maintenance, making it suitable for manufacturing apparel, home furnishing, outdoor products and many items for industrial purposes.
Polyester absorbs the wavelength of the CO2 laser beam very well and can therefore be easily processed by laser. Laser cutting makes it possible to cut polyester at high speed and with flexibility, and even large fabrics can be completed at a fast rate. There are few design limitations with laser cutting, so more complex designs can be made without burning the fabric. Laser cutter is able to cut sharp lines and rounded corners that is difficult to do with conventional cutting tool.
